A Journey Back to God

1.   YOU WERE MADE FOR MORE

You were made for more.

Deep down, have you ever felt—the desire for love that lasts, peace that doesn’t fade, and a purpose that actually matters.

That longing? It’s a signal pointing you back to the One who made you.

⚠️   2.  BUT SOMETHING WENT WRONG

We were made for a real, close relationship with God, but sin is what went wrong.

Sin is when we choose to live our lives our own way instead of following God’s plan. It’s like being given instructions to build something, but instead of following the steps, you do your own thing and it falls apart. Sin isn’t just about doing bad things—it’s about turning away from God and choosing our own way over His.

Everyone has sinned. We all make mistakes, hurt others, or do things that pull us away from God. When we sin, it messes up the relationship we were made to have with Him and leaves us feeling lost, empty, or stuck.

“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”
– Romans 3:23

Sin creates distance between us and God, and it leaves us feeling empty, lost, or stuck.

💔 3.  Sin Separates Us From the Life We Were Made For

Sin brings something we don’t want: consequences.

In the world, when you work, you get paid for what you do. That’s your wages. So, if you work a job, you get paid a certain amount for your time and effort. Well, sin works the same way. The “wages” or “payment” for sin is death—but not just physical death. It’s eternal separation from God, what the Bible calls Hell.

Hell is a place where people are separated from God forever. It’s not just about dying; it’s about being cut off from God and His love for all eternity. It’s a life without hope, peace, or joy, and that’s what sin leads to.

“For the wages of sin is death…”
– Romans 6:23a

Sin leads to death, but it’s not just about dying once. It’s about being separated from God forever, and that’s not what we were made for.

✝️  4.   But God Came to Rescue You

God didn’t abandon us. He came for us.

Jesus—fully God and fully man—stepped into our world to do what we couldn’t.

“But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” – Romans 5:8

He lived the life we should have lived.
He died the death we deserved.
And He rose to give us life that never ends.

🎁 5 .  Salvation Is a Gift You Didn’t Earn—and Can’t Lose

Even though we deserve punishment for our sin, God loves us too much to leave us there.

Jesus, God’s Son, came to take the punishment we deserve. He died on the cross for our sins so that we don’t have to. This is God’s amazing gift to us—something we could never earn on our own. Because of Jesus’ sacrifice, we can be forgiven and have a relationship with God again.

“…But the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
– Romans 6:23b

God’s gift of salvation is exactly that—a gift.

You don’t work for it. You don’t perform for it. You simply receive it.
Because it’s not based on our performance, we can’t lose it by failure.

It’s secure in what Jesus has done, not what we can do.

God doesn’t take back what He freely gives when we truly believe.

That’s grace.

This gift of salvation isn’t just about being forgiven. It’s about being promised a future with God forever in heaven—a perfect place where there’s no pain, no sadness, just peace, joy, and being with God for eternity.

🔑  6.  So How Do You Receive the Gift?

Salvation is a free gift from God, but like any gift, we have to accept it.

The Bible makes it clear—it starts in your heart and moves through your confession:

“If you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”
– Romans 10:9

“For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.”
– Romans 10:10

To receive the gift of salvation, which includes eternal life in heaven, you need to:
  • Believe that Jesus died and rose again for you.
  • Confess Him as the Leader and Lord of your life.
That’s it. It’s not a magic formula—it’s faith expressed from a sincere heart.

When you accept this gift, you’re promised not only forgiveness and a new life here on earth but also eternal life in heaven. Heaven is a place where you’ll be forever with God—filled with peace, joy, and love, completely free from pain or sorrow.

🙏  Your Move: A Simple Prayer of Salvation

If you’re ready to receive the gift and start your new life with Jesus, you can pray this:

Dear God,
I admit I’ve sinned and gone my own way.
I believe Jesus died for my sins and rose again to give me life.
Today, I turn from my old life and trust You.
I confess Jesus as my Lord and Savior.
Come into my heart, fill me with Your Spirit, and help me to follow You.
Thank You for saving me.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
